At around 9 am on the 9th of October, the Ocean Drover operated by Wellard Ships, Singapore caught fire in its accommodation area.
The ship’s crew, as well as the local authorities, prompted immediately to distinguish the fire. The firefighting effort continued until noon.
One crew member was sent to a hospital at once for the treatment of burns. All the crew was accounted for this accident, and the ATSB has already conducted an investigation.
The ATSB investigation team started to collect relevant evidence and information by going to the scene and interviewing the involved parties.
After the evidence has been all gathered, it will be analysed for the drafting of an investigation report. The draft will then be sent to relevant parties for commentation before the ATSB release the final report.
