Starting on April 2014, there is a required Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods for Section IB shipments of lithium batteries which was optional before the implementation of new requirement.
The said Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods form is now required for all the international dangerous goods shipment or any hazardous materials via air. The hazmat shipping form will include the air certification and an area for the 24 hour emergency response phone number. This newly shipment form for dangerous goods declaration will contain the following basic description sequence:
- UN number
- hazard class
- proper shipping name
- packing group
It will also include the declaration statement for air eligibility.
The Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods comes in laser and snap-out or pin-feed formats. The following are the format for the new shipping form:
- Laser form is available in 8 1/2″ x 11″, single sheet, with or without columns, packed 100 sheets/package.
- Pin-feed forms can be acquired in 8 1/2″ x 11″, 4-part, carbonless, with or without columns, packed fan-folded 500 forms/box.
- Snap-out form is available in 8 1/2″ x 11″, 4-part, carbonless, with or without columns, packed 100 forms/package
Under Section IB and for Lithium Batteries shipment falling under Section II, it is required to provide a “Transport Document”.
